What is NZCEL Level 3 (Applied) ?

The Level 3 Applied qualification is intended to enable language development in different applied settings, academic, community and/or employment context(s).

Our NZCEL Level 3 (Applied) programme is assessed using unit standards, allowing students to pass stage by stage units as they progress. NZCEL results are validated by the NZQA with no expiry date.

NZCEL Level 3 (Applied) prepares students for success at tertiary level. By the completion of the programme, the learner should be able to think analytically about language in order to be an independent learner and take advantage of second language immersion, thus equipping the learner for further study and thriving in the academic environment.

The qualification is aligned with The Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR), an international standard for describing language ability being used around the world to describe learners’ language skills.
